Our Cambridge based client is seeking a Senior Diagnostics Scientist, an individual who wishes to utilise their technical acumen and project management experience as a senior scientist working with diagnostics companies.
The role would be addressing company?s needs in designing and improving complex diagnostic instrumentation, especially in the area of molecular diagnostics. Our client is particularly interested in individuals with experience in central laboratory testing equipment, although point of care and home testing experience is also valuable. The individual`s principal contribution to the group should be the experience, presence and ability to manage projects involving the integration of assays on to instrumentation platforms.
Scientists are expected to participate in all aspects of the group`s work, which includes:
Working closely with business developers to understand clients needs Developing new ideas to meet industry needs Develop proposals Project management Detailed technical work
Our clients main business is centred primarily on northern and central Europe, however there will also be considerable scope for international work further afield, particularly in the USA. Type of work undertaken by group: The Project Management Group manage projects in two focus areas for the Healthcare Business Unit:
Drug delivery Clinical Diagnostics
Members of the group also contribute to projects as technical contributors or, depending on experience, technical reviewers. Minimum requirements: Experienced scientist from diagnostics industry with expertise in molecular diagnostics, assay integration onto automated systems, new instrument development, project management.
A degree in either Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Analytical Chemistry or similar and ideally an MSc in a technical*instrumental discipline.
You will ideally have the following experience:
~5-10 years industry experience ~5 years diagnostics ~3 years molecular technologies ~3 years system integration : assay instrument >1 experience of new instrument platform development cycle >1 experience of management development team through cycle
